Handsome and intelligent, Hawkeye is a
powerfully built yellow Labrador who combines athleticism
with good looks. He earned his Master Hunter title as
a young 3 year old; and has competed in four Master Nationals
completing three of them successfully in 2003, 2004 and 2009
earning him a place in the Master National Hall of Fame;
and is Qualified All Age in field trials. Hawkeye has
also competed successfully in a Canadian HRC hunt test
at the finished level. He enjoys hunting pheasants,
ducks and geese when not competing.
With his Canine Good Citizenship and
Therapy Dog certifications and his experience as a demo dog for
retrieving seminars, Hawkeye is a well socialized Lab who has
excellent manners and is a pleasure to be with in any environment.
He currently participates in a “Reading to Dogs” program at
New Jersey elementary school, and is requested by name for special
events involving children at Easter Seals. His abilities in the field,
excellent response to commands and gentle personality earned him a
spot on the national television show, “The Dog Whisperer” and special
mention in Cesar Millan’s book, “Be the Pack Leader”.
Whether he’s being a therapy dog making visits to
nursing homes and schools, hunting waterfowl or pheasants, helping
teach an obedience class, working at a crowded trade show booth,
performing in a retrieving demonstration, or competing in a field event,
Hawkeye is always trying to please. His ability to pass that trait
on to his sons and daughters is one of his greatest attributes.
